The Rotaract Club of Likas Bay brought joy to 74 Toboh Home children on 2nd March 2008. These children were brought from their Home at Tambunan to Poring Hot Spring at Ranau.
Poring Hot Spring & Nature Reserve, Sabah's most famous hot water spring, is located amongst the foot hills of Mt. Kinabalu near Ranau. Poring Hot Spring's hot spring itself, located about 3 hour from Kota Kinablau, is managed by Sabah Parks. Poring Hot Springs is a hot water spring with its source deep under the fertile ground of Mt Kinabalu.
The springs are known for their therapeutic properties and the waters with their sulphuric minerals are reputed to ease aching muscles. Hot enough to boil an egg, the water from the hot spring is said to have curative properties, attracting visitors from near and far.
The management of Sabah Parks has kindly arranged a video presentation about Kinabalu Park focusing on Borneo Rainforest flora and fauna to the children before they take a dip in sulfur rich water tubs. Thanks to all sponsors for making a day to remember for all of us.
